November 2010 Class projects

I am short on time tonight but I didn't want to wait any longer to show you what we made at our last class.

Mini milk carton bird house. I inserted a battery powered tea light inside to get the glow. I posted two pictures so you can see how it looks with the light on and off. Isn't it just adorable. Thank you to the person who originated this idea and posted it, allowing us to copy and share!

Love the look of this card with the penguin looking at Santa flying over. If I find the blog of the demo who shows how to create this penguin I will post it for you soon. The stamp set is from Wandering Words and Serene Snowflakes.
Cute little snowmen. The stamp set is called Line Up.

This is a card I tried copying the original that is in the catalog. I think it came out cute (not counting the oops in the corner when it fell into my blue ink for the snowmen) but I think I love the one in the catalog much better. Don't know why they look almost identical except for a few small changes.

Well there you have it. November card class. If you have any questions of instructions for any of the projects you just seen please send me an email.
Thanks again for stopping by.

September Workshop 2010

Here they are, the projects from this months workshop. I hope you enjoy and if you would like to recreate any of the projects please email or phone me and I can either prepare a kit for you to take home or we can schedule a time to get together where I can show you step by step how to recreate these beautiful projects.
This card I have been seeing online and just love how cute it is! The only stamp used on this project was from the Watercolor Trio and that was just to stamp Happy Birthday inside. We used the Modern Label punch for the drawer fronts, half of the Curly label punch to create the look of legs on the front of the dresser, Two step bird punch for the leaves, Scallop edge border punch and the Itty bitty shapes punch pack for the flowers. On each of the flowers I added the new Basic Pearls and the drawers I added dimenionals and brads

The Because I care card I cut a mat the same size as the whisper white paper then trimmed the middle out. I then laid my mat on the white card stock and sponged with Crumb Cake. Next I stamped the flower from the Because I care set and 5 of the small flower that comes in the set. I took my real red marker and just scribbled my color across the flower not being careful, just quickly covered the flowers and then did the same with the old olive marker for the leaves. After that I carefully cut out the flowers. Using dimensionals I pop up the 5 small flowers. Glued the large bodied flower to my card, stamped my sentiment and added the ribbon and brads. ***My brads were not originally black. Because I needed black and didn't have any I dipped some dark blue brads in versa mark and then into some black embossing powder and heat set them. Taaaa-Daaa black brads!!*** After all was said and done I took a white gel pen and added the dots to each of the flowers.

The box was created using the Box #2 die for the Big Shot. The embossed image on the belly band came from the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder also for the Big Shot along with the Little Leaves sizzlit die for the leaves under the roses. The roses were made using 3 punches from the Fancy Flower punch. I had found a great tutorial online for them, the lady did an awesome job giving step by step instructions. Then added the sentiment on the Word Window and Modern label punch. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set. Another great set to have!!

This final card was our quick and easy card. The stamped images are from the level 2 hostess set called Apple Blossom. We used old olive, early espresso and Cajun craze ink, old olive satin ribbon and a clear rhinestone brad. Very cute and super simple!

That's it. Those are the projects for September. If you have any questions or would like better instructions please let me know.

Thanks again for stopping by. I hope that if your in the area you will join us next month for some fun and stamping. Until then HAPPY STAMPING!!

August 2010 Workshop

Here are the projects for this months workshop. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I hope you enjoy what we created this month!

Cute little frog and lady bug for those little critters in your life. We used Always Artichoke, basic black and whisper white for the frog and real red, whisper white and basic black for the lady bug. The frogs punches consisted of small oval, large oval, 1 3/4" circle, 1/4" (non stampin up), 1/2", 3/4" circles and the retired flower trio punch. The lady bug punches consisted of 1" circle, 1 3/4" circle, 1/4" (non stampin up) circle and 1/2" circle. The bodies are 2 1/2" that can be cut using the circle scissor plus.

This anniversary card Was created using very vanilla card stock, basic back, and the new daffodil delight. The flower image is from the Friends never fade stamp set and the Happy Anniversary image is from the teeny tiny wishes set. We also used the curly label and eyelet border punch along with the vintage wallpaper embossing folder.

Hooo Loves you? I love you. =-) Aren't these little owls too cute? My vision of the female and male were different from the other ladies at the workshop, but that's ok. I thought the little orange vested one looked like the female but the ladies flipped the green vest over which had a floral print on it and said their girl was the green floral printed vest. Even my girls disagreed with me. I thought the orange color and design looked like a summer dress. Oh but anyways it was fun and lets get onto what was used! The card stock used are chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, old olive, pink pirouette, soft suede. Punches used are two step owl, scallop edge and two step bird punch. Stamped images are from Three little words and Things I love. We lined them up using the stamp a ma jig.
This final card we used early espresso, marina mist, certainly celery and whisper white. The stamped images are from the Aviary set and teeny tiny wishes. We used the scallop border punch, Filigree designer brads and the square lattice embossing folder.

Gift Certificates.

Just a reminder I do offer gift certificates. Below is just one example of how your gift certificate may arrive. This one pictured is going to a lady for her anniversary. Great gift and smart man. If you have any questions or would like to order one yourself please give me a call or email.

My daughters card

Here is a card my daughter put together. I needed to make a card for my folks for their anniversary but was so caught up in the normal day to day things that I just couldn't find the time to sit and create a card. My daughter wanted to make something with my things and so I asked if she wouldn't mind making g-ma and g-pa a card. This is what she came up with. The only help she really got from me with this card was showing her how to use things like the stamp-a-majig, big shot and tying a ribbon. she chose the colors and design etc. I think it came out awesome. I am very proud of her and very thankful for her help in completing one of my tasks! Good Job Ali!!

July 10, 2010 Workshop

I'm sorry it has taken so long to post new projects we've done. June I didn't have a workshop because we went on vacation and this month I had my normal monthly workshop but left the next day to visit family in Oregon. So I have fallen behind. So anyways here are the projects created for July's Workshop.
This card was created using the Elements Of Style set from the Summer Mini. The colors used were very vanilla, soft suede and crumb cake (originally called kraft). For the ribbon I ran a line of sticky strip across under the very vanilla and used my piercing tool to lift the ribbon as I pushed down the other side to create these pleats.

This card is so cute! I just love the awning over the store window. Stamp set used here was the Sweet Scoops also from the Summer Mini. Colors used were Pretty in Pink, whisper white, chocolate chip, creamy caramel (now retired) certainly celery. I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the ice cream scoop with the cones. If your not good at lining up the two and don't have the stamp-a-ma-jig then you could always stamp the cones then from another piece of paper stamp the ice cream cut them out and pop dot them above the cones.

This little note pad was created using the Beautiful Butterflies Big Shot die. I used printer paper for the inside sheets and chip board for the front and back cover. To hold it all together I used a 1 inch book ring with some rich razzleberry ribbon to fancy it up.

The final card I used some of the new colored paper. This color is called marina mist. The outlined flowers were created by stamping with versamark sprinkled with white embossing powder then heated until set. I did the same thing with the solid flower on whisper white card stock then using a sponge added some certainly celery and marina mist to make the flowers pop. This stamp set is called Fast & Fabulous. It is a level 2 hostess gift.

I hope you enjoyed these projects. If you have any questions please feel free to email me or if you would like dimensions. Thanks for stopping by.

May 2010 Workshop

Our May workshop was primarily for father's day with the exception of one technique project.

This finished card measures the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. We used the large oval punch for the arm holes and back collar. Then the pockets were made using the small and large tag punch. The name tag was created using the word window punch. Some eyelets and twine for the closure and a cute little fishing lure from the local store for a little embellishment. This card is ready for that great fishing dad!
Got a dad or hubby that golfs? This is a perfect little card for them. I used the And Many Mower set from the now expired Occasions mini. Using blender pens I colored the image in using some of the In Colors.

Here is our technique project. Of course they got more than this but this is all I am left with since I gave my box away. What we did was cut a Fancy favor box with the bigshot. Assembled it added some razzleberry polka dotted ribbon and two of these super cute pansies made from 2 punched butterflies. Make sure when making your very own pansies that you use the Stampin Up shimmer paper. The regular card stock just doesn't work. The ink refills I used here were the Rich Razzleberry and Summer Sun.

And finally the last card we created. And as I am sitting here looking at this picture this one I made for a different occasion. I see now the sentiment on this one says Thinking of you but on the one we did for the workshop it said Happy Father's Day. But that's the only difference. The colors and everything else is exactly the same. A very versatile card. The stamp set used to create this card is the Lovely as a Tree set. I highly recommend this set as it it perfect for sooo many occasions. The Thinking of you stamp came from the Level 3 hostess set called Kind & Caring Thoughts. Another great set!!

Well that's it. That's all I have for you today. I hope you enjoyed the projects we created at the May workshop. If you have any questions please email or if you would like to join us for a workshop our next one will be in July. Having to miss the June one because we are going to a take a well deserved vacation. So until then thanks for looking and Happy Stamping!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just wanted to show a project I put together the other day. This is a paper flower bouquet for my mother. I was asked to prepare a gift card for my mom from my dad and I got a little carried away. Inside the card holds her gift certificate. The flowers were made using the large and small scallops from the big shot scallop die. If you would like more details on how to create these flowers please send me an email and I will get that up.
Thanks for looking.

April 2010 Workshop

Here are the projects for my April 2010 Workshop. Enjoy!!

These 2 cards I copied from the Stampin Up flyer for the 2 step stampin promotion. They used the new smooch spritz in the summer mini and since I didn't have the spritz I used the color spritzer tool with the Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery markers. Stamps used were Awash With Flowers and Wonderful favorites.

I saw this card online and just loved it. The card Originally saw was in I believe Soft Suede. I changed it up and used Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence. The stamp set used was Messages for Mom.

My new favorite thing to do is make these candles. I just love how it transforms a boring everyday candle into a beautiful piece of art. Stamp set used here was Vintage Vogue.

At the last minute this card became our 4th project. I had my projects all ready to go and then came across this card online and fell in love with it. So I scratched my other card I had planned and we did this one. The stamp set is from Upsy Daisy and the butterfly which we used heat and stick powder with glitter is from the Beautiful Butterflies Die. The white flowers were created by clear embossing the flowers on whisper white card stock then brayering over with cameo coral. Super cute!!
I hope you enjoyed April's projects. Thanks for stopping by.

March 18, 2010 Workshop

Our March workshop was dedicated to Easter. We made 3 Easter cards and a little gift box filled with Easter candy.

Isn't this card just to stinkin cute?? I found it online and just thought it was a project that had to be made especially because the saying fit so well with me and some of my stamping friends.
The stamps we used on here which aren't much were the Smarty Pants set and the Good Neighbors set. Punches we used were 1 3/8", five petal flower and the curly label.
Wonderful card to give someone special. We used the Abundant hope stamp set that is in the Occasions mini and the Scallop trim border punch from the sale - a - bration mini.

This Easter card had a little accident during the workshop. He accidentally fell into the black ink pad. I wish I could jokingly blame it on someone else but oh no it my clumsy hands. But he's ok, he is still cute as can be! We used the movers and shapers die for the big shot. The little Chicky and eggs are from A Good Egg stamp set and the Happy Easter saying came from the Well Scripted set that can be found in the Occasions Mini.

Here is the little treat box we made out of window sheets. It's hard to see but we embossed it first with the bigshot and then die cut it using the box #2 die also for the bigshot. The sentiment came from the All Holidays set and the butterfly came from the Beautiful Wings embosslits die in the Occasions mini. (I think that butterfly die is a must have!)
I hope you enjoyed looking at this months projects. They were a lot of fun to make and so cute too. Hopefully something here inspired you to create your own Easter projects.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Faux Leather Wallets

I made these super cute Faux Leather Wallets for my girls' friends birthday. They originally wanted to give her a gift certificate but then thought cash is better. I mean really would you want cash in your hand to spend anywhere or a gift certificate designated to only one store? I know which one I would want!!
I found the directions for these wallets at www.splitcoaststampers.com. If you need help locating the directions please let me know and I will send you the link. Now looking at the black wallet you may notice I made a boo-boo. I did not realize it until AFTER I sewed the layers together but the recycled pop can pull tabs I used for embellishments one is upside down and doesn't quite match the other one but I'm thinking the girl probably wont even notice.
These were fun to make and very impressive I do believe I will be making a few more of these. I hope you enjoyed viewing them. Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday card was created using the Rich Razzleberry, Always Artichoke and Whisper White card stock. Inks used were Rich Razzleberry and Always Artichoke. Stamp set used was Vintage Vogue from the Occasions Mini.

This cute little notepad we used Old Olive, Dusty Durango and Whisper White card stock. Inks used were Old Olive and Dusty Durango. Stamp sets we used were Inspired by Nature and Thoughts & Prayers.

Easel card seemed a little to confusing with the folding areas for some but we got them all straightened out and they loved their cards. Items we used here are Bermuda Bay card stock and ink, Basic Black, Kraft and whisper white card stock. We used the Well Scripted stamp set, Very Vintage Stampin Around Jumbo Wheel and 2 step bird punch from the Occasions Mini. The Scallop Trim Border punch from our Sale-A-Brations Mini and finally the texture was created using the Backgrounds 1 texture plates using the Big Shot.

We also created this pretty card that will also be project at the upcoming Open House.

January 2010 Workshop

It's amazing how good you feel when you get a group of gals together to do some stamping. This past week has just been horrible. It was so bad I was on the verge of canceling today's workshop. I just didn't think I had it in me to pull myself together and do some stamping, but I'm so very glad I did. Stamping is like therapy and then when you add some good friends its empowering! I'm starting to think maybe stamps should be covered under some kind of medical prescription. LOL
So anyways lets get to the projects we made today!
This first project I found online somewhere. (I'm not very good at giving credit to the originators. My apologies) It's just beautiful. The ladies were feeling a little intimidated by the sponged effects under the large flower but were soooo proud of themselves when they found how easy it was. Stamps we used here are the Pocket Silhouettes and the Whimsical Words (from the sale a bration mini). We also used the big shot die called Flowers Layers #3 (pg202 in the catty) and Flower Layers w/Leaf (pg199 in the catty) along with the Backgrounds 1 texture plates.

Super cute box made using the A Happy Heart stamp set. Here my box shows the scalloped edge on the lid but I had the ladies use the new Scallop Trim Border punch that is in the sale a bration mini. The punch gave the edge a little more of an elegant look to it. Great box to give some yummy treats to your valentine.

This card was made using the tri fold technique. We used the stamp set called Love You Much.

This card I first saw at a demo night that I go to where several of us demonstrators get together and share ideas and have like a workshop for ourselves. The original one that I received has a heart punched in place of the circle that I have on here. I think that the heart gives it more of a valentine feel I just haven't acquired that punch yet so I improvised and I think it came out ok. We used the new roller from the Occasions mini called I {Love} Love along with Well Scripted set, also in the mini. Before stamping the Love you much sentiment on the pretty in pink circle we used a dauber to add some sparkle with the shimmer white paint. We also used another texture plate from the backgrounds 1 package.

I hope you have enjoyed the cards we created today at my workshop and hope that one day you will join us for some "therapy" and fun. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!
